Floods Grow Worse In Portugal By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. LONDON, January 4; The floods which have been sweeping Portugal in the last few clays are growing worse and large areas are now under water. At least six villages have been completely submerged in a district 50 miles north-west of Lisbon, and one message says that manv people have been drowned. One thousand head of cattle have been lost, orchards and olive groves have been destroyed, and railway services in certain parts have been suspended. A message from Madrid says that in Southern Spain several people lost their lives through the overflowing of a river. Hundreds of houses in Seville have been flooded.—By radio.
