Major-General Freyberg Guest Of Honour
A cocktail party in honour of Major-General B. C. Freyberg, G.O.C. the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, was given by MajorGeneral J. E. Duigan, Chief of the General Staff, in the Hotel, Wellington, yesterday. The guests were received by Major-General Duigan and Lady Ostler. A private lounge off the main lounge was used for the occasion, and was very beautifully deeorated. A charming effect was achieved with flamecoloured and yellow gladioli and blue delphiniums against the neutral gold and brown tones of the room. The flowers were set in low green troughs and were artistically placed on low tables, on the grand piano, and in corners of the room. An old-fashioned basket of lovely sweet peas in rainbow shades was the only decoration on the mantelpiece. Lady Ostler wore a smart black ensemble trimmed with white.
