AGAINST JAPAN
Senator Will Ask For Export Embargoes
WASHINGTON, December 31.
The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Key Pittman, announced that at the proper time he would ask the committee to authorize export embargoes against Japan. (The United States-Japanese treaty expires on January 26). He added that in spite of talks between the American Ambassador and the Japanese Government he had no information that Japan had ceased violating American rights in China.
