SHIPS SUNK
Figures For Last Week
(British Official Wireless.) (Received January 2, 9 p.m.) RUGBY, January 1. Ships which were sunk last week by enemy action wore: Stan Holme, 2473 tons; Barbara Robertson, 325 tons; Resereho, 258 tons. All were British vessels. Neutral vessels sunk were: Norwegian, Lappen, 563 tons; and Danish, Hanne, 1080 tons. The Norwegian ship, Torwood, 254 tons, sank on December 26, but till further details are available it cannot be determined if she is a war loss. The Italian ship Comitas, 3482 tons, was sunk on December 22 and must now be added to the total sinkings of the previous week.
Last week’s losses are little more than one-fifth of the losses in the previous week, ended December 23. On December 26 a German merchantman, Glucksburg, 2680 tons, was intercepted by a British warship an'd beached herself two miles south of Chipiona light in Spain. She has since broken up.
