Fair To Cloudy; Scattered Showers Later
Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. today: — Weather: Unsettled in western and far southern portions of the with rain at times; otherwise fair to cloudy and mild, but scattered showers later extending to Wellington and Taranaki. General situation: Pressure continues relatively high in the north, but has fallen in the south with the approach of a depression. Forecast:—Winds: Variable in the northern half of the North ‘F 1 where directions between north and west prevailing. I'orcc strong in some exposed positions south of Cook Strait, otherwise light to moderate. Seas (N.Z. waters) : Rather rough to rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, slight to moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate and variable winds in the northern portion “nd strong northerlies in the southern, changing later to southwesterly. Seas slight in the north, rough in the south.
