There is" relentless lobbying by the strongest “pressure groups” in the United States. Cattlemen and woolgrowers have already passed resolutions in opposition, and many manufacturers fire expecte to oppose an extension of the present form of trade agreements. Mr. Roosevelt by proclamation has assigned to Mexico a share with other foreign States of 3.8 per cent, of the United States’ oil imports. The new quotas give Venezuela 71.9 per cent, o the total imports, the Netherlands 20.3 per cent, and Colombia 4 per cent. All others share the remainder. TARIFF CHANGE Goods To German Poland WASHINGTON, December 12. The United States has withdrawn the most, favoured nation tariff on imports to German-controlled Poland, the duties on which in future will be similar to those on German goods. it is understood that this constitutes de facto but not de jure recognition of the German control of Poland.
