ITALY’S CLAIMS URGED
Colonial Revision For A New Europe BROADCAST BY GAYDA By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. ROME, December 12. The Italian publicist, Signor Gayda, in a broadcast, declared that a revision of the colonial system was essential to a new Europe. Italy, with a rising birth-rate, had a particular colonial claim against France, whose birth-rate was falling. Signor Gayda complained that Britain’s power to close the Mediterranean imprisons Italy, impairing her liberty of movement. “It is necessary that Italy should have a freedom similar to that of other great Powers, who defend their necessities of life at the cost of a most bloody war,” said Signor Gayda. GOODBYE TO LEAGUE’ Italian Press Comment ROME, December 12. The. Italian Press, upon the expiration of Italy’s two years’ notice, bid “Goodbye and good riddance” to the League, the “Lavora Fasclsta” declaring, “We are out of it and forever."
