Addington
By Telegraph.—Press Association. OHRISTOHUROH. December 13. With one or two exceptions value showed an easing in all classes at the Addington,. market today. Fat lambs sold at export rates. but fat sheep receded sharply for the lighter sorts to export parity. The best of the fat cattle just about maintained prices,.but the bulk o the yarding was easier. All subsid miy sections were easier, except fat pi„». which maintained recent values. The. store sheep entry which was not very attractive, was made up mostly ot local offerings. Moderate lots_ot twotooth ewes ranged from 10/- to 21/0, and older sorts from 16/- to 17/-. The spring lamb entry of about 1000 head, showed a progressive easing which, at the end, amounted to about 1/6 a head. The tale finished with values at about 8«d. a lb. for prime, medium and lightweight sorts, and for heavy lambs at 7id. a lb._ Freezing works’ buyers bought sparingly at up to Sid. a lb. for 361 b. lambs. The qualitv in the fat sheep section was the poorest of the season, a big proportion being little better than stores. The market was the first since the export works opened, and values fell quickly for export ewes, which were down by about 3/- on prices of last week. The export schedule rates are: Ewes, 3 l-Bd. a lb. for up to 641 b.; wethers, o 1-Sd. a lb. for up to 641 b. Prime heavy wethers made from 29/- to 34/-; prime medium, from 24/6 to 27/6; and ordinary, from 20/to 24/-. Prime heavy ewes made to 25/-. the tops to 28/10; ordinary, from 14/- to 17/-: and light, from 9/- to 13/-. The quality in the fat cattle section was indifferent, and there was an easing of from 10/- to 20/- a head for all sorts except prime steers. Cows were harder to sell, and the market was overloaded with them. Prime heavy steers made to £lB/5/-, the tons to £2O; ordinary, to £l3/10/-; and light to £9/10/-; prime heifers, to £l3/15/-; medium, to £lO/?/-; and light to £B/10/-; primetows, to £l2; medium, to £9/5/-; and light, to £7/lt>/-. The fat pig entry was smaller than normal and, though the sale began with an improvement, values eased finally to last week’s parity. Prices for choppers were 10/- a head better. Choppers brought £2/3/6 to £6/8/6; light porkers, to 39/6; heavy, to 56/6; light bacon-m-s, £2/17/6 to £3/7/6; heavy, to £4/6/6. The average price a lb. for porkers was. 6|d. to 7d., and for ibaeoners 6}d. to 6Jd.
