CHRISTMAS SPIRIT

Bright Lyceum Club Party The Lyceum Club, Wellington, celebrated the Christmas season with a bright party last night. The large blue lounge was brightly decora festive streamers, and a warm fire added to the cheery atmosphere. Mrs. J. C. Andersen, club president, conducted proceedings, and during the evening she was presented with a Christmas gift from the members. Madame de Mauny, who conducts the singing circle, also received a gift, a lovely spray of flowers. An enjoyable programme was presented, including a humorous play by members of the reading circle. Those taking part were Mesdaines Kinniburgh, Henry, Von Haast, Willoughby, McDonald and Misses Pinhey, O’Donoghue, Keffsberry and Miss Ahern. Competitions were arranged by Mrs. g. Masters and the junior circle, and a treasure hunt caused much amusement. Part songs by the Glee Singers were also much enjoyed. A delicious supper was a feature of the party. The large decorated Christmas cake in the centre of the decorated table was made for the occasion by Mrs. Masters, who, with Mrs. J. H. Thompson and Misses Old and I. L. Ball, were responsible for the supper arrangements.
