Tito aiinoiincemont of a 56 per cent,. restriction on the import: i>f all books and papers caused considerable anxiety to the authorities of the Presbyterian Cliureh. who feared that thp limitation would cause inconvenience ami hardship to Sunday school scholars and teachers, and to ministers anti cliurcli members generally. This anxiety has been removed by a notification from the, Minister of Customs, Mr. Nash, advising the manager of the Presbyterian Bookroom in Christchurch, that it has now Ix-en decided to grant licences for the importation of religious books.
