Yesterday’s Reports ■Wellington.—Dull, with intermittent rain in the morning and early afternoon. A strong but moderating southerly prevailed. The minimum temperature oil Monday night was 50.4 deg., and the maximum yesterday 55deg. At 6 p.m. yesterday lhe temperature was 54.Sdeg„ and the barometer reading was ‘1008.6 millibars. Palmerston North. — After further showers during the night the sky was overcast during tlie morning, but there was a considerable improvement during the afternoon, with a drying wind. New Plymouth.—A bright sunny day, but a strong southerly wind of gale force. Barometer at 5 p.m. 999 millibars. Wanganui.—Stormy in lhe morning, witli a southerly gale, but later improving. Sea heavy. The barometer reading at 4 p.m. was 1004 millibars. Masterton. —Light misty rain fell most of the day, but. the sky cleared at intervals. There was a gusty southerly wind, but temperatures were warm. Napier and Hastings.—Cloudy, with intermittent, rain and n strong south-east wind. Waipiiliurau.—Heavy rain in lhe night was followed by a diill. overcast day, witli frequent showers. The maximum temperature was 69deg. and the barometer rose sharply, the reading at 7 p.m. being 1004 millibars. Auckland. —Cloudy, but line, witli a strong south-west wind. Maximum temperalure 6Sdeg., minimum 59dcg. Barometer at 5 o'clock rising nt 29.62 in., or 1003 millibars. Cliri.stcliiirch. —The weather cleared before midday after rain in the early morning, mid there was brilliant sunshine for the greater part of the day. A moderate south-west, wind in the morning changed to a fresh north-easterly in Hie afternoon. Maximum temperature 65.5 deg. Barometer at 5 p.m. falling slowly at 1009 inillibnrs, or 29.80 in. Dunedin. —Fine, with bright sunshine mid a light to moderate north-east breeze. Maximum temperature 66deg. The barometer was rising toward evening'at 29.90 in., or 1072 millibars.
