HOMING PIGEONS
Wellington Club’s First Race Of. Season Tin- Wellington Homing Pigeon Society commenced the 1939-10 season with a flock race from Huntervilie, 101 miles airline. The pigeons were liberated by Mr Shindler in good weather, and a yerj creditable velocity was recorded. Ihe following are the main blueings for cup points,:—C. Webster and Son’s Jackie, 1315,-lvds. per tnin,, S points, 1 : .Heyward and lloare’s Flying Aee. Ihlo.byds.. 7 points, 2; J. Bock’s Ellendale. 101-.4 yds., 6 points, 3; T. Baxter ami Son s Our Pet, 1312.3yd5., 5 points, 4: J. Boek’s Second Edition, 1309yds„ 4 points, 5: Heyward and lloare’s War Ace, 1.10b.l yds., 3 points, 6; R. Tasker’s White Robe, 1307 6yds., 2 points, 7. One point each was gained by Fhpp and Son, E. O’Dea, R. Day. L. Perkins, R. Taylor, J. Ireinonger and Son, C. Eggintbn. F. Blair, T. Hayes, and F. Couper and Gray. Section plaeings for section trophies were: —East section: R. Day, 3 points, I: L. Perkins. 2 points, 2; R. Day, 1 point, 3. West section: C. Webster ami Son, 3 points, 1; Heyward and Hon re, 2 points, 2; J. Bock, 1 point, 3. Next Saturday a flock race from Waiotrru. will be flown.
