Mrs. Joseph D. Birrell, and her two daughters, Elizabeth and Sara, Wellington, will leave shortly for the United States, and will later make their home in Manila. Mrs. J. Power has returned to Wellington after a week's holiday in Auckland, where she was the guest of Mrs. G. Foote, Newmarket. Mrs. A. A. Wilson, Westport, is staying fpr st few days with her daughter, Mrs. D. A. F. Cromfbie, Karori. Miss Dawn Basis, Upland Road, Kelburn, has left to spend a holiday in Sydney and Melbourne. ■Mrs. David Allan and Miss Barbara Allan, Wellington, will .be the guests of 'Commander A. D. Boyle, Orari, Canterbury, for the Pickney-Kain wedding tomorrow. Mrs. F. J. Denton, Wanganui, who has been paying short visits to Ashburton and Dunedin, spent the week-end in Christchurch on her way back to the North Island. .Miss Joyce Cameron, Palmerston GSforth, will leave shortly for Brisbane, where her marriage to Mr. C. E. Whitehead will take place. Miss Fay Hanning and Miss Gwen MdCouchie were Wellington visitors to Hawera for the Black-Gatenby wedding. Mrs. Owen Williams, Christ’s College, Christchurch, is visiting her sons in Wellington and Napier.
