ANOTHER SETBACK TO MR. ROOSEVELT
House Rejects Lending Programme WASHINGTON, August 1. The House of Representatives refused to adopt the Bill relating to President Roosevelt’s lending programme' (aimed at. reviving commerce in the United States), killing the measure for the present session. The Senate, which passed the measure b.v 52 votes to 28, had reduced the sum to 1,950,000,000 dollars.
