POPULAR MUSICAL TRIO
Departure For Australia Having completed a contract with the National Broadcasting Service, the Bridges Trio, players of the Cuban marimba, will leave tonight by tb<Wanganella for Australia. For the last month they have two or three recitals a week from 2YA.. The trio comprises the Misses N. and F. Bridges, and Mr. C. Bridges. Former residents of Wanganui, they left New Zealand five yeans ago with their mother, Mrsl G. F. Bridges, for Australia. whore they were under contract to the Australian Broadcasting Commission. The contract was one of record length.
After gaining much experience m Australia, they returned io New Zealand with the Chang Company, ami their novelty orchestral work proved very popular in the Dominion. In Australia they will either resume a contract with the Australian Broadcasting Commission or join another company. Later they will probably go to England to join Chang, who is now in South Africa.
