Ronald Noel Mahan, aged 2-L a labourer. was remanded till August 7 when he appeared in the Magistrates’ Court, *v ellington. yesterday on a charge of obtaining £l5 from J. in Grey mouth by means of a false pretence with a cheque. Mr. J. 11. Luxford, S.M., was on the bench. . Detective-Sergeant i*. Doyle said that the police wished to make inquiries about similar offences in Palmerston North, Nelson. Dunedin, Greymouth and Auckland.,
