FALL OF 30FT. FROM GIRDER
Steelworker Injured When he fell 30 feet to the ground from a girder on the State Fire Building in Lambton Quay shortly after 10 o’clock yesterday morning, Mr. G. J. Davey, steelworker, 5 Kilmore Avenue, received severe injuries to his back and ribs, and s hock.
Mr. Davey was working on a girder on the inside of the building when he lost his foothold. He was taken to the Wellington Public Hospital by the Free Ambulance. His condition last night was reported to be satisfactory.
Seaman Injured. Struck by a winch block on board the Union Company’s steamer Wahine, berthed at the Lyttelton Wharf yesterday morning, Mr. Norman Hobbs, seaman, received a severe cut on his mouth and shock. He was taken to the Wellington Public Hospital by the Free Ambulance.
