Season Ends With £1668 Credit

After paying £5OO off the mortgage, carrying out minor improvements and giving £lB5 in increased stakes, the Pahiatua Racing Club ended up the season with a credit of £lO6B/15/3, which is an increase of £B2B on the credit shown the previous year. Referring to the successful result of the year’s operations the president, Mr. D. Kelly, acknowledged the help given by the stewards, whose workhad been outstanding. He also referred to the good work of the secretary, Mr. J. G. Swainsou.
In their report the stewards said the meeting held in January last was one of the most successful the club had experienced for some years; the attendance of the public was very encouraging. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. D. Kelly; vice-presidents, Alessrs. R. J. Smith, S. V. Rodney and S. T. Tinney; stewards, Messrs. C. Conrfell, J. Devane, E. L. Harvey, lan Taylor, N. Bicknell, A. Bentley C. Hodgins, E. 11, Lett, G. .Scales, 11. IVhitta and J. Beech; hon. surgeons. Drs, H. Paterson, E. B. Watson and I. Paterson; hontj treasurer, Mr. S. T. Tinney; clerk of course, Mr. B. Draper; clerk of scales, Air. P. J. C. Lloyd ; timekeeper, Mr. ML 11. Gaisford.
