America’s Power Of Sanctions (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, July 28. The “Dally Express” points out that America is the only country in the world which is able single-handed to impose sanctions on Japan, as she supplies bulk oil for the Japanese mechanised army and the air force, steel for the shipyards and arms works, and army trucks and plane parts, while she also buys a large part of the Japanese silk exports (valued at £17,000,000 in 1938), cotton goods, canned foods, and pottery.
