The sculptor, Mr. Jacob Epstein has accepted an offer of £15,000 from Mr. Lawrence Wright, who recently purchased the right to exhibit his work “Adam,” to create an “Eve.’’ Epstein stipulated for an advance of £5OOO, and Mr. Wright has agreed to furnish it. “Adam.” the much-discussed recent sculpture, Is coining money in a sideshow at Blackpool, the Lancashire holiday resort. My estimate of the takings from the exhibition of ‘Adam’ —£20,000 —was pessimistic. I shall exhibit the sculpture to prove Epstein’s greatness.”
