SOME PATIENTS HAVE NO EARPHONES
Board Member Would “Kick Up Shindy”
“If I was one of those who had no earphones I would kick up a ‘shindy,’ ” said Mrs. M. Dowse at Thursday’s meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board, when she referred to the fact that not all beds in the hospitals were fitted with earphones for radio reception. Mrs. Dowse said that those with earphones had beautiful smiles on their faces as they listened-in; that others did not have earphones she considered > unsatisfactory. The ehairman. Mr. J. Glover, said there were earphones for the regular beds. It was reported that the superintendent had been instructed to arrange for the hospital wireless to be switched over to the church services on Sunday mornings and evenings and to the devotional period each weekday.
