Lawn —Allen Pink and blue hydrangeas and silver ribbons decorated St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Karori, Wellington, recently, for the wedding of Muriel Irene Mary, only daughter of Mr. aud the late Mrs. Arthur E. Allen, Karori, and Dudley Henry, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. 11. Lawn, also of Karori. The Rev. F. M. Kemptboriie performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Christy, Mr. R. C. Hayes played the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained gown of french silver and white flowered brocade, made with a heart-shaped neckline. The bodice was draped in graceful folds, and the full sleeves tapered to a point over the hands. Her embroidered veil, which fell from a cluster of silver roses, formed a second train. Her only ornament was a brooch of turquoise and pearls worn by the brodegroom’s mother at her wedding. She carried a bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaids, the Misses Joau Powell, Joan Lawn, sister of the bridegroom, and Joyce Hare, wore frocks of delphinium blue chiffon over pale cyclamen under-dresses with pleated frilled front panels, heart-shaped necklines, puffed sleeves and short trains. Deep blue delphiniums in headdresses and bouquets made a pleasing finish. Mr. Allan Cameron was best man and Messrs. C. Camp and R. Fletcher were groomsmen. Messrs. John Harvey and King! Tahiwi were ushers. During the signing of the register, Miss Vivian Blamires sang “Oh Love Divine.” The reception was held at the Grand Hotel, where Mr, Allen received the guests assisted by Mrs. Clarke, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Clarke was wearing a black and white embroidered gown, a small black hat and she carried a bouquet of deep red roses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a gown of black embroidered sheer georgette and a picture hat of fine black straw. Silver fox furs completed her ensemble and she carried a bouquet of golden roses.

The bride travelled in an attractive ensemble of delphinium blue sheer, trimmed with cyclamen and navy, a navy halo hat trimmed with matching flowers and swathed veiling and navy accessories.

Murphy—Parsons in St. Mary’s Church, Walpukurau, the wedding took place recently of Lynette, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Parsons, Wiripukurau, and Edward John Bennett, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. W. Murphy, Gisborne. Guests were present from Hawke’s Bay, Poverty Bay and Wellington. The church was decorated by Mrs. P. F. Wall and helpers. Flowers in pastel shades were arranged on the altar and bowls of gladioli and gypsophiltr were placed on the chancel step. At the entrance to the church were large bowls of blue and pink flowers. The Rev. A. M. Niblock, Poraugahau, performed the ceremony, which was choral. Mrs. W. G. Bryce played the organ. The bride’s gown was of slightlystiffened ivory chantilly lace. The skirt, cut full from the waist, swept into a long train. The bodice, fitting into a deep corsage, was caught with srn orange 4 blossom spray. The frock was mounted on dewdrop net. Her veil of ivory tulle, finished with a deep frill, and' arranged from a halo of orange blossom buds, formed a second train.' The bridesmaids were Misses Joan Parsons (sister of the bride), Phillipa Murphy (sister of the bridegroom), Judy Wall, Molly Whelch and Mary Nation. Their frocks were of frosted water-blue Swiss muslin, the skirts being cut full from the waist and finished with a deep frill. The bodices, fitting into a deep corsage, were finished at the back with a cluster of pale blue and white hand-made flowers. Their picture hats had an extended net brim, under which were' fasteued similar flowers to those on their frocks. Their sandals matched their frocks and each wore a single string of Richlicu pearls and a Richlieu bracelet, (the bridegroom’s gift). A frock, similar to those worn by the bridesmaids, was worn by the flower-girl, Ann Fitzsimmons, cousin of the bride. Bay de Lautour, as page boy, wore blue corduroy trousers with a white sheer skirt, the cuffs aud collar finished with tiny frills. The best man was Mr. T. Gaddum and the groomsmen were Messrs. M. and P. Murphy, B. Parsons and P. de Lautour.

After the ceremony tile guests motored to the home of the bride’s parents, where Mr. and Mrs. Parsons and .Mr. and Mrs. Murphy received them. Mrs. Parsons wore a French model frock of soft opal blue heavy crepe, with shirred bodice and a draped skirt. Her hat of summer felt was in mushroom pink. Mrs. Murphy was wearing a navy mid white floral chiffon frock. Her hat and accessories were of navy. A large marquee had been erected on the lawn. On the three-tiered wedding cake a miniature white horse symbolised tlie bride and bridegroom’s keen interest in the hunting field and show ring.

The bride travelled in a French model ensemble. The bodice mid skirt of the crepe frock were sun ray pleated and finished with a high roll collar and belt. A floral linen lace coat was worn over this, and a white halo straw hat, white shoes’ and handbag completed the outfit. Mr. and Mrs. Murphy will make their home at Mohnka.
