NO OFFICIAL ADVICE
Economic War On Japan
COMMENT BY MR. SAVAGE
The New Zealand Government has not heard, and do.es not expect to hear, anything official about the report published yesterday in which the Australian Press Association's correspondent in London stated' that several countries would probably declare an economic war on Japan, staled (he Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, in an interview yesterday. Tlie published report was rhe first that lie had learned of the matter, Mr. Savage added. When it was pointed out that tlie report, stated the Dominions had been consulted, Mr. Savage said the New Zealand Government, had not been approached by any other Government, and laughingly agreed that “if the Dominions have been consulted this one has been insulted.”
