King Carol is tutor, trainer, and friend to his 17-year-old son. "Unlike most kings, I like my job,’ King Carol told an interviewer. "I would not exchange it for any other.
“There is not much chance for relaxation. Whenever Ido take an occasional holiday I drive my car straight out. to my little house in the mountains. I detest cities.
"My chief diversion is shooting, which keeps me physically tit. I tlo not care for drinking or dancing, but 1 eujov books and music. “.My work, however, yields me Hie greatest satisfaction.” The old wanderlust torments him no longer. “Sometimes,” lie confessed, "I get. restless and want Io move about a bit. But: that is not important. I have learned, you see, to be patient.” Prince Michael, tall, shy, but selfassured. lias been king of his country and will one day be king again, but he is still a boy. “If you were not going to be king what profession would you choose?” he was asked.
The answer came quickly. “I would rather be a meelianieal engineer. I like planes and cars better than anything. "But I think flying would be best or all. I wish I could fly regularly . . . it must be much greater fun being a pitot.” When asked who his hero was. lie answered simply, “My father.”
