Circuit
At the quarterly meeting of the Wellington Central circuit of the Methodist Church, the Rev ’Percy Paris presided, and with him were associated the Revs. J. H. Haslam and O. E. Burton. The financial statement revealed a small credit balance for the quarter. Appreciation was expressed of the splendid donations mane to the circuit fund by ihe Webb Street and Aro Street women’s guilds. Substantial amounts as a result of retiring collections were forwarded to the Masterton Methodist Children’s Home and Otakou Methodist Memorial Church. Messrs. B. O. Stokes and T. M. Pacey were unanimously re-elected circuit stewards. Messrs. T. M. Pacey and R. S Maunder were elected circuit representatives to the Methodist Conference, lo bt held in Christchurch in February. Mrs L. J. Clark and Messrs. J. Gansted anc C. J. Freeman were appointed as theii substitutes.
The meeting decided to oiler congratulations to Sir Charles Luke upon the honour conferred on him by the King. Sir Charles was the first vice-president of the United Methodist Church. . Harvest festival services are to be held throughout the circuit on Sunday, March 12.
