CRITICISM OF IMPORT CONTROL
“Unfortunate” Broadcast
LONDON, January 11
The New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Jordan, informed the Australian Associated Press today that he had called on the Dominions Secretary, Mr, M. MacDonald, who considered the recent broadcast by Professor Hall on the New Zealand import control scheme as unfortunate and undesirable.
He undertook to take up rhe matter with the chairman of the British Broadcasting Corporation immediately.
A cablegram received from ftondoh on Monday stated: —Mr. Jordan designates as ex parte and based on incorrect information unfavourable to New Zealand a broadcast by Professor N. F. Hall, Professor of Economies at London University, on January 4. criticizing the New Zealand import control scheme. Mr. Jordan protested to the British Broadcasting Corporation authorities and requested a correction to be made by radio. The matter may be brought up in the House of Commons.
