The following horses should be well supported in their engagements at the Vincent Jockey Club's meeting which will open tomorrow : —

Soine of the early crops of linen-flax being grown experimentally in North Canterbury with a view to the possible establishment of s new industry are being pulled and will be sent to the agronomy division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for testing. The crops, which were grown in more than 30 trial jilots in various districts and which are under the supervision of the Instructor in Agriculture, Mr. A. S. Nash, Rangiora, are reported to be in generally good condition.
