Germany Will Give Guarantee FRANCE INFORMED Declaration Of Italy’s Readiness Sought By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received December 9, 9.30 p.m.) PRAGUE, December 9. It is officially learned that, during his visit to Paris, the German Foreign Minister, Herr von Ribbentrop, told the French Ministers that Germany was ready to guarantee Czechoslovakia’s new frontiers. and would endeavour to induce Poland and Hungary to give a similar undertaking. The French Ministers urged Germany also to use her influence to obtain a declaration of Italy’s readiness to do likewise.
This, they suggested, should be followed by diplomatic negotiations about the form the guarantee should take. The Prague correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” gays official statistics reveal that by the Munich Agreement Czechoslovakia lost 4,922,440 inhabitants. or one-third of her former population, and 29. G per cent, of her territory.
