Landslide In Asbestos Mine
QUEBEC, December 8.
Seven miners were buried alive by a landslide following a dynamite blast at the Bell asbestos mine at Thetford. Two hours later rescue crews found all the men dead. All of the victims were married men. and 34 children are fatherless. Arthur Hudson, the sole survivor, said he heard a sound like a hurricane and threw himself on the tloor of a railway car. A moment later a huge mass of asbestos hurled the car to safety but engulfed the remainder of the men.
