MAORI GIRLS’ CLUB SALE OF WORK
A sale of work organized by the Maori Girls’ Club to assist Maori mission work was held in the Maori Hall, Hutt Road, yesterday afternoon.' The Mayoress of Lower Hutt, Mrs. J. W. Andrews, expressed pleasure at the display of'weaving, and said she felt that Maori arts and crafts should be stimulated as much as possible. She said it always gave her pleasure to be associated with the club, Of which she had. been a vice-president since its inception. Lady Pomare presented Mrs Bove with the prize for the best weaving, Miss Vera Sanderson receiving a special prize. The stall holders were: Mesdames R. Love, J. C. Burns, T. Reweti, 11. Colson, A. Everson, H. Love, H. Tahiwi, G. Tewnri and E. Lyle; Misses L. Mobray, L. Edwin, J. Edwin, B. Blandford, V. Colson, Love and Sanderson.
