Waterloo Scholars’ Initial

Presentation

Waterloo school scholars presented their initial concert in the Horticultural Hall, Lower Hutt, last night. Green lattice work outlined with red Howers formed an effective background for the back of the stage, and vases of flowers and lanterns were also used in decollation. The programme included a wide variety of items, and the children’s performance was uniformly good. The frocKing was a pleasing feature. . During the evening the chairman ot the school committee, Mr. R. D. Smith, presented the acting-headmaster, Mr. W. Dickenson, with a Maori carved cigarette box, and expressed the committees appreciation of Mr. Dickenson s work at the school. Mr. C. H. Olson will take up the duties of headmaster at the be ginning of next year.
