■Speeches of welcome were made by Mr. Barrett, Mr. J. McMillan, the Rev. C. E. Willis (Anglican), and the Rev. E. S. Hoddinott (Methodist). Air. Dowling suitably replied. Mists Russell was the accompanist. _ A vocal duet was given by Misses Valerie Roberts and Betty Barnsley. Supper was served at the conclusion of the evening.
