The weather this morning was hue after heavy rain overnight which had made the going on the course proper very dead. The hurdles were out about IS feet. Homily ( W. Ruyuer) was not asked to do her best over six furlongs which she cut out in 1.20. . . Dynasty (F. Latham) and bubmission (W, Rayner i, after trotting a round, sprinted half a mile, both going well Avitlrin themselves to register 51. R Submission is to race iu \\ oodville on Saturday and Dynasty will be given a run on Monday. , , , ~ Airing, with K. L'boli- in the saddle, put in a round, sprinting home from the two-furlong peg iu 20. He is to make his next appearance at the Taranaki meeting. . Entail (F. Latham} slipped over the last five furlongs of a circuit in 1.4 1-5, bowling along very freely, and could hate done much better had lie been required to do so. . Icing lias beeu moving scratcbily recently and she was not on the track tins morning, the lameness having developed. It appears as if she may have to forgo her Woodville engagements.
Eurotas (R. Hornet was given a run over six furlongs by hiniisclf and he cut out the distance in I.JB 2-5. going well within himself. Hukemai ami Mohrug were associated in a spin over half a mile, registering -x.. Though Mohrug was lame after galloping yesterday she was all right again later, but she again showed signs ot lamene-s after her ruu this morning. Hie trouble is caused by a splint, ami does not affect her galloping, and she will probably race in Woodville. All Bunsby and Desert Column put in two rounds, sprinting down the straight each time, Desert Column showing promise. This pair are to race in New Plymouth. . . , A thunderstorm was experienced before work could be resumed after the interval, heavy rain falling. Little work of importance was done afterward. L>. T. Marks came iu from Fordell with Scandal, Tuatara and Ruaka. three two-year-olde. Scandal was not asked to do his best in a spin over half .a mile which occupied 53. The other pair were gnen from half to three-quarter paeework. They have not yet done any really fast work. . The Fordell trainer was tn yesterday with Smoke Screen. Taurangi, Red Cat and Ruatiti. which quartet is engaged in Woodville. They were given good threequarter pacework. All four look well, but if the going is heavy Red Cat may not be a runner. The half-sister to Gaily put in a round, finishing up at a solid pace. Amatory went six furlongs at good three-quarter pace and Amigo did useful pacework on the inner.
