A cut: on the hand was received by one of the passengers. Mrs. Bultitude, Spreydon, but. none of the other passengers was injured. 'Pile tree crashed down on tlie track after tlie train passed, cutting tlie wires by which the Railway's Department maintains communication with Rangiora. 'Pho signalling system was not. affected. Due at Rangiora at 12.57 p.m., tlie train did not. arrive there till 1.16 p.m., and it was eight, minutes late arriving at Christchurch on its return journey, as there was considerable work to be done removing tlie tree from rhe line. 'l’ltc damaged carriage was replaced in Belfast.
