MUSICAL RECITALS
Much interest is being aroused in local musical circles by the forthcoming, series of pianoforte recitals in which Paul anil Diny .Schramm, celebrated Viennese pianists, will make their debut before New Zealand audiences. 'The first of these concerts takes place in the Concert Chamber of the Wellington Town Hall on Monday evening at 8 o’clock, when Paul Schramm will present the following solo programme:—-“Organ Concerto” (W. F. Bach. arr. by Stradal) : “Andante favoii. and Sonata, op. 10. No. 2 (Beethoven) ; “Etudes Symiphoniques” (Schumann); two Intermezzi (Brahms) ; “L’isle joyeuse” (Debussy) ; “Nocturne,” "Berceuse," “Polonaise” op. 53 (Chopin). For the second reeitai, on Wednesday. August 17, a splendid programme of music for two pianqs is to lie presented, in which Diny Schramm will co-opernte with her husband. A feature of this programme is Gershwin’s popular “Rhapsody in Blue.” which, ns played by these line artists. always creates a furore. Their Excellencies, the. GovernorGeneral. and Lady Galway will airend rhe second reeitai.
