And Australia
By Telegraph—Press Association.
Auckland, July 8.
“The citizens of no country in the world are regarded more highly in America than those of Australia and New Zealand,” said Mr. Harry N. Holmes, 0.8. E., associate secretary of the World Alliance for International Friendship. New York. Formerly general secretary of the Y.M.C.A., Wellington, he arrived by the Monterey today on a three weeks’ visit before going to Melbourne for the World Christian Endeavour Convention. It was generally held that there was a close affinity .between America, New Zealand, and Australia because of their common outlook in the Pacific, he said. The hope was cherished that in the strain of the modern world Britain and America would come to know one another better, and it was felt that on that the stability of modern civilisation rested. ®
