COMPLIMENTARY TICKET ISSUE

'The annual conference of delegates from New Zealand racing mid jockey clubs was held in Wellington yesterday, the president, Mr. J. S. McLeod, occupying the chair. Hosking (Auckland!. Dual Licences. The chairman reported that it wus suggested to disallow dual licensing as from July 31, 1939. Mr. L. 11. Collinson raised an objection to the suggestion, pointing out that horsemen of the standard of C. Thomson, A. Jenkins, A. E. Didhum, A. McDonald and F. McHugh were engaged in training operations, and without their riding activities it was problematical whether they could carry .on. Mr. Perrett supported Mr. Collinson and moved that the suggestion be disagreed with. Mr. Wanklyn moved as an amendment that no dual licences be granted by the conference except under special circumstances. Mr. Tringham seconded the motion. It was suggested that dual licences be granted only to cross-country, horsemen, but an amendment along these lines was lost, and Mr. Wanklyn’s motion was carried, Mr. Perrett withdrawing the original motion. . Complimentary Tickets. Th motion spimsbred by the Wellington District Clubs (North Wairarapa Racing Club) that the conference consider the matter pf clubs regulating the issue of complimentary tickets to race meetings provoked considerable discussion. Speaking in support of the remit, Mr. J. W, Card urged the conference to take steps'to regulate the issue of complimentary tickets, which was being abused by some clubs. Various speakers spoke on the question, and it was generally agreed that the system needed revision. It was .resolved that the executive committee be requested to consider the mutter, and ascertain from clubs the position regarding : the issue of complimentary tickets. Mr. J. 11. Perrett was requested to supply the conference with the particulars placed before the conference of Wanganui District Clubs held some time back to discuss the same question. The annual reports of the stipendiary stewards (Mr. C. Gomer, chief) and the racecourse inspectors (Mr. A. Ward, chief) were read and adopted. .Amendments to Rules. The remit by the executive committee to exclude one-eyed horses from racing except those registered prior to August 1 last was carried. The Wellington Racing Club’s proposal to bar such horses from racing over fences was ineluded in the resolution.
