Nursing Guild
The monthly meeting of the District Nursing Guild Of St. John was held recently, Mrs. Btilcombe Brown being in the chair. A busy month was reported by the nurses. The guild discussed finances, and hopes were expressed that help might be forthcoming in the form of subscriptions, donations or grants, to supplement the income from the trust fund, which is insufficient to cover the whole cost of the guild's work.
Generous donations have been made by Mrs. Balcombe Brown, Misp Anyon, Mrs. O. G. Horne, Mrs. E. Groves, C. M„ Miss M„ Mrs. Groves, M. H., and the Misses Evans.
Visitors For W.D.F.U Conference
Among the visitors from Central and South Taranaki to Wellington during the W.D.F.U. Conference will be:— South Taranaki f Mesdames Benton, Sheat, Starck, Patterson, Crossley, Tosland, Johnson, Meuli. Rowland, Kerrisk. Illingworth, Buckrell, Potter and Miss Washer. Central Taranaki: Mesdames Hunt, Lamplough, Burton, Jones, Har ris. Best, McNeill, Hancock, Wieksteed, Kemsley, Rowe, Gibbs, Lepper, Williams, Cocker, Trotter, Hunger, mid Wallace. Band Of Hope Meeting Giris, boys and their parents were present at the Aro Street Mission Band of Hope, Wellington, recently, when Mrs. Mowlem gave an interesting lecture. The president, Mrs. Sired, read a passage from Weymouth's Bible in modern speech. The text of Mrs.- Mowlem’s lecture dealt: with Dr. Metchinkoff’s ex perlmeiit, which showed how white corpuscles in the blood tight disease germs. Mrs. Hennessy and Miss Phyllis Erikson gttve recitations, and a feature of Hie evening was the singing of hymus.
Wesley Guild Elects Officers
The annual meeting of the 'Wellington Wesley Ladies’ Guild was held in tile church parlour recently, Mrs. Ham presiding. There was a good attendance of members, and in the absence of the Rev I’. Paris the Bev. H. Ilaslem took the chair for the election of officers, all last year’s office-holders being re-elect-ed. They were Mrs. Terace, president, Mrs. Ham and Mrs. Paris, vlee-presl dents, Miss Richards, secretary, and Mrs. Childs, treasurer. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdauicti Ham, Smith and Burley.
