Hospital Appointments
Sir, —At the last meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board the position of matron was filled without the usual method of advertising the position. They have ignored the claims of all those who have been trained at the Wellington Hospital and returned for a course in the post graduate school. The board surely remember that the Health Department made the Christchurch Hospital Board call for applications for a new secretary after they had appointed a junior officer of their staff? One marvels why the Health Department has not done this on this occasion.—l am, etc., L. G. AUSTIN. Wellington, July 8.
