PLUNKET MEDAL CONTEST
The contest for the Blanket Medal for Oratory, which is one of the events of the Victoria University College year, will be held in the Concert Chamber of the Town Mall to-morrow night, at 8 o'clock. The Victoria College Debating Society extends a cordial invitation to all interested in public speaking. Those who have attended previous contests are well aware of the high standard of speaking attained by entrants, and this year’s contest should be one of the best yet held. Subjects are well varied ; some are well known, eome are new to Plunket Medal audiences, and in all, the eight subjects cover a wide field of human activity. It is understood that speakers dealing with the 'better-known subjects will adopt a new approach, and the very novelty of some of the newer subjects should provide considerable interest.
