Wairarapa Response To Flood Relief Appeal

The response of the people of the AAairarapa to the Hawke's Bay flood relief appeal, which took the form in Masterton of a ball in the Municipal Hall last night, has been generous. The sum of more than £5OO which has already been raised does not include the proceeds of ticket sales in Masterton, expected to amount .to another £2OO. AVairarapa towns have opened subscription lists, and contributions received up to last night were:—Eketahuna, £63 12/-; Featherston. £7O; Martinborough, £54/5/-; Carterton, £25; Greytown, £37; Pahiatua. £lO. Total £259/17/-. Ahisterton’s fund, which is to close next week, stands to date at £ll7/17/-. More than £lOO was taken at the ball last uL’ht. Mr. D.
