RECORD SEASON FOR FRUIT EXPORTS
Hawke’s Bay Expectations Dominion Special Service. Hastings, Alay 10. Witii nine days to go before the closing of the fruit export season Hawke’s Bay is expected to break the export: record by at least 20,()<)() eases. This statement was made by tlie orchard instructor Io the Department of Agriculture al Hastings. Air. N. J. Adamson, to-day. It is anticipated that by the time tlie reason eloses on Saturday week tlie number of export cases will exceed 335,000. Last year frost destroyed nearly the whole crop. The previous record export year, approximately 314,000 . cases, was in 1934. The total number of cases produced in the province during the season is probably more than 1.000.000.
