BROOKLYN HARRIER CLUB’S RUN
An excellent muster of members of the Brooklyn Harrier Club gathered at the Island Bay Surf t'lubV sheds last Saturday to participate in the second run of tin' season. Fully 35 runners were present. including several new runners and three old club members. E. Davies, who was a member of the Aberdeen University Harrier Club while abroad, B. Bibliy, who last turned out at lite club's opening run for the 1937 season, and came third in tlie “run-in" on llnil occasion, and last ly. G. Prosser, last season's club and provincial championships winner. The trail was laid Uy L. Todd, and led from Hie Surf Club sheds round to Houghton Bay, up Hornsey Road, over the tup of the ridge, down past: the back of the Zoo. across Duppa Srteet Park, around the side of the hills, and thence back Io the starting place. There were two packs, a slow pack under R. 'Watterson, a ''medium-fast” pack led by C. .MeCalmnn. The course demanded some solid running, greasy tracks and pot-holes filled with waler helping considerably tn keep the riintiers alert. However, once Hie tint was reached toward the end of Hie run. some pace was put on by some of the more energetic runners. M. Moir. R. .MacGregor. I’. Argue. 11. Reid. D. Pedersen. B. Bibliy and T. Davies, were among Hie first batch tp reach home.
