Minister London, March 24. In connection with the Prime Minister’s meeting with the council of the Trades Union Congress on a question of acceleration of defence production, the "News Chronicle” says Mr. Chamberlain made it clear that the Government is really concerned at the threat by dictatorships and at the systematic co-operation between Rome and Berlin. Undoubtedly the German rearmament scheme is actuating the Government to speed up its arms programme. All factories and arsenals will work day and night. The unions will probably grant most of what Mr. Chamberlain asks, the “News Chronicle” states, provided the men’s interests are protected.
