Geographical Society’s Award
London, March 24. The Royal Geographical Society has announced that the King has approved of the awarding of the Founder’s Medal to Mr. John Rymill in recognition of his organisation and leadership of the Graliamland Expedition in 1934-37; the Patron’s Medal to Mr. Eric Shipton, for exploration in the neighbourhood of Mount Nanda Devi and Mount Everest, and his conduct of the expedition in 1937, and the Gill Memorial award to Mr. Ivan Champam for exploration in Papua.
