SPORTS STADIUM FOR HUTT VALLEY
Project Being Considered
Influential sportsmen and business men in the Hutt Valley are considering means of establishing an indoor stadium on a central site to serve Petone and Lower Hutt with equal convenience. Such a stadium would primarily be for tlie conduct of sports contests such as boxing and wrestling. . , u. * Those interested have in mind that there will soon be a city in the Hutt Valley, either in several years with the normal increase of population in Lower Hutt or sooner by the amalgamation of the boroughs of Petone and Lower Hutt. With city status an organisation behind such a stadium would be able to compete on ti equal footing with any towns outside the four main cities in the promotion of sporting contests. Nothing definite has been decided, as the preliminary support needed before launching the project is considerable.
