EASTBOURNE FERRIES
Expenditure Increases Faster Than Revenue Revenue from ferries for the eleven months of the financial year (April, 1937, to February, 1938) was £440 higher than for the same period of 1936-37; expenditure for the same period was £5OO more than for the 11 months of the 1936-37 financial year. This information was presented in :t report to the Eastbourne Borough Council last night by the town clerk-reneral manager, Mr. C. L. Bishop. Unsatisfactory week-end weather had reduced ordinary ferry receipts for February by £BO compared with February, 1937, he stated. Picnic and special excursion revenue was £l7O higher than for February, 1937. This made the total revenue lor the month £9O more than in February, 1937. Omnibus department expenditure was a good deal higher than for the last financial year, but increased revenue would more than meet this. February receipts were £125 higher than for February, .1937, and the total" for the 11 months showed a satisfactory increase over Hie same period of 1936-37.
