RADIATOR CAP BLOWN OFF

Bus Passenger And Driver Scalded By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, March 23. When the radiator boiled over and blew off the cap as a Passenger Transport Company bus was climbing Farmer’s Hill on the Great South Road at about midday, scalds were suffered by the driver and a woman passenger who was occupying the front seat. A jet of boiling water burst into the cabin of the bus, striking its victims unawares, the passenger suffering most. Scalds to her back and right arm were received by the passenger, Mrs. Molly Jean McGrath, aged 35, Onehunga. She was taken to Auckland hospital, and her condition is fairly serious. Mrs. McGrath was discharged from hospital only two weeks ago after undergoing medical treatment, and the accident caused her considerable shock. The driver of the bus, Mr. R. Phillip, escaped with slight scalds to his arm.
