Minister’s Praise For Mr. Chamberlain Johannesburg, March 23. After two air crashes, in which he was uninjured, the Minister of Defence, Mr. O. Pirow, arrived at Cradock, where he opened an agricultural show. Mr. Pirow travelled from Pretoria in jin Air Force machine, which skidded when lending at Bloemfontein, the undercarriage being shattered. A second
machine was sent from Pretoria, but was smashed in landing at Cradock. Mr. Pirow, in his speech, expressed his admiration of Mr, Neville Chamberlain’s courage and leadership. “As Minister of Defence, 1 have access to secret documents,” he said, “mid my considered opinion i,s that there is no prospect of way in the near future.
