More Contracts Approved By Cabinet DWELLINGS AT NAPIER i ’ Cabinet has approved further contracts ■ for the construction of houses under the State housing scheme. Details of these were announced yesterday by the Parliamentary Undersecretary in charge of Housing, Mr. J. A. Lee. They are as follow:— Mount Albert, Auckland.—Contracts involving the erection of six houses at Mount Albert have been awarded to Mr. T. M. Taylor. Point; Chevalier, Auckland. —Mr. T. F. Playfair has secured a contract for the erection of four houses at Point Chevalier, two of the houses being semi-detached. Napier.—Mr. H. Faulkner has secured contracts for the erection of 14 single-house units and three twohouse units at Napier, while Mr. A. Bryan hag secured a contract for four single-house units, and Messrs. F. and R. Smith one for two single-house units. • Wairoa. —D. Glenggrry, Ltd., have secured contracts for the erection of 12 houses at Wairoa, two of which are semi-detached. Timaru. —Mr. G. W. Moorehead has secured contracts for the erection of 1G single-house units ,and two two-house units at Timaru, while Mr. W. A. Petrie has been awarded a contract for the erection of five single-house units. Hokitika.—Mr. J. L. Pugh has obtained a contract for the erection of seven houses at Hokitika, two of which are semi-detached, and Mr. F. G. Reed has obtained one for the erection of three houses. Greymouth.—J. A. Hart, Ltd., have secured contracts involving the erection of 13 single-house units and..one two-house unit at Greymouth. ' Westport.—The tender of Messrs. Morgan and Risk for certain stormwater and sewer drainage at Westport has been accepted. Christchurch.—Messrs. Job Osborne and Co.’s offer for the sinking of an artesian bore on Corrigan’s block at Christchurch has been accepted.
